Scribbles Code of Conduct

Last edited: September 9, 2017

Scribbles is a place for everyone to express their creativity and expand each others imaginations. Every action you make whether it is making a thread, remixing a picture, stickering posts, or making witty replies, helps to shape the Scribbles' community the way it is.

The rules are here to have a friendly and suitable community for everyone. If you do see a rule being broken, please report it responsibly by flagging it. Don't sticker or quote the remix or comment.

Safe for Work | Be nice to others | Create quality content

Keep it "safe for work"

We have this rule so that no one should have to be embarassed or get in trouble for viewing Scribbles content in public. If it seems lewd or disturbing to you or someone else then most likely it breaks the fundamental rule of Scribbles.

  • No sexually provocative content
    • All nudity whether full or partial is not allowed, and this includes drawings
    • Do not draw genitals, breasts, or anything that may act as a replacement. The less obvious the picture is, the more of a chance that the content will be allowed. This rule is vague so most likely a warning will be given for edge cases. If the drawing appears to purposely break the rule then punishment will be given at staff's discretion.
    • Anything less than normal street clothes is not allowed if the purpose of the image is to be provocative. i.e. Swimsuits, lingerie, etc
    • Do not post images depicting sex acts. Even if it's only touching or the activity is fake or implied, if the act or the image has a sexual purpose it still isn't okay.
    • Do not post anything sexually inappropriate or sexualize images of people or animals. This includes anything that creates a focus on breasts or genitals, such as arrows or stamps.
  • No violent, gross, or disturbing content

There are lots of places on the Internet to see gory accidents, injuries and other shocking content, but Scribbles isn't one of them. Even historical photos or content that is in the news may not be appropriate for Scribbles.

Be nice to others

Scribbles is place for everyone to express their creative talents and expand their imagination. Since we want everyone to feel welcome here, it is not okay to be mean or bully other people. We give people the ability to post anonymously if they're shy about expressing their opinion or art.

  • Be supportive

If you think something is lame or over-hyped,

    you can down-vote it

(Currently disabled). But it's not okay to be rude or insulting to others. Don't single out other users for ridicule and don't harass, intimidate, threaten, bully, troll or otherwise be a jerk on Scribbles.

  • No hate speech or intolerance

It is completely unacceptable to attack or demean a person or group of people based on race, religion, nationality, gender, sexual orientation, political standpoint, or disability. This includes labels and jokes that use slurs or offensive stereotypes. Exceptions can be made for celebrities only for the purpose of comedy.

  • Respect the privacy and safety of others

Do not post pictures of people against their wishes. Revealing personally identifying information about someone else, such as their name, address, email address or phone number is strictly prohibited. Behavior that endangers the safety and integrity of the Scribbles community or is in any way malicious may result in permanent banning.

Stay on topic and contribute to the community

Canvas is what you make of it. Be engaged, make cool stuff and help us keep things tidy.

  • Flag inappropriate posts

If you see something that violates the Code of Conduct, don't sticker, remix or reply to it, please flag it so that it can be reviewed.

  • Don't ask for stickers

Earn stickers by making things people like. Don't directly ask for stickers or post polls asking for people to vote with stickers.

  • Stay on-topic

Each group has its own topic and rules and anyone can create their own group, make sure what you're posting is appropriate for the group it's in.

  • Don't spam

Don't post the same or similar images to various threads or groups. There will only be ONE exception https://scribbl.es/p/2td/reply/4405

  • v Don't advertise

This rule only applies to users who benefit monetarily with the traffic from Scribbles. Don't post links or images that serve the purpose of promoting something outside of the site. This affects user profiles as well. Examples include logos, flyers, banners, and linking to external content.

  • Don't post inappropriate links

This includes misleading links to content which violates the Code of Conduct.

  • Respect copyright

    Do not post infringing materials.

  • Don't encourage violations

Be careful not to encourage or entice other users to violate the Code of Conduct.

  • Don't impersonate others

    Love thyself.

  • One account per user

We ask that each user only create one Scribbles account.

P.S. This Code of Conduct is based on the Canvas CoC so you may find many similarities between the two.

Almost there!
